Final Office Hours to Assist Arizona Families with Completing New FAFSA at the Capital One Café at Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall
Education Forward Arizona is gearing up for its final FAFSA office hours to assist Arizona families in completing the new Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The office hours will take place on March 24 at the Capital One Café in Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall.
The release of the redesigned 2024-25 FAFSA has brought about numerous challenges for students and parents nationwide. To address these challenges, representatives from Education Forward Arizona’s AzCAN and Ask Benji teams, in partnership with The National College Attainment Network (NCAN) and Capital One, have been hosting free, in-person FAFSA assistance office hours. The office hours provide hands-on assistance and guidance to help families navigate the application process. 15 NCAN partners were selected to participate in this grant project across 20 cities, and Education Forward Arizona’s January and February office hours garnered the most attendees of all the nationwide events.
“Access to financial aid remains a significant barrier for many students aspiring to pursue a degree or certificate,” said Dr. Jennifer Murphy, Senior Director of Attainment and AzCAN at Education Forward Arizona. “By providing resources and assistance to navigate the FAFSA application process, we empower students with the confidence to pursue their educational goals. Every completed FAFSA application brings a student one step closer to realizing their dreams and unlocking the doors to higher education.”
Each event offers FAFSA drop-in sessions led by trained representatives from Education Forward Arizona. These office hours provide attendees with the necessary resources, including WiFi-connected devices, to complete FAFSA applications.
“We are proud to have supported more than 100 students and families so far,” said Graciela Nobles, Education Forward Arizona’s Ask Benji Program Manager. “Our team has helped our guests submit FAFSA applications, create FSA IDs, and even submit college applications.”
Education Forward Arizona’s final office hours will take place on March 24 at the Capital One Café at the Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall. Families are encouraged to attend and take advantage of this opportunity to receive expert assistance with completing the FAFSA.
“Deciding how to pay for college is one of the most significant financial decisions students and families will make in their lifetime,” said Kerone Vatel, Head of Community Impact & Investment, Capital One. “By democratizing access to information and available aid, we can break down barriers and help students feel more confident, capable, and in control of their financial futures.”
