Our reaction to the U.S. Supreme Court’s affirmative action ruling
Education Forward Arizona is deeply committed to ensuring that all students have an equal opportunity and access to pursue a college education. We recognize the value of a diverse student body that is reflective of our great nation and are disappointed with the U.S. Supreme Court decision that may have a devastating impact on qualified and talented students in pursuing their higher education goals.
Arizona has everything to gain when more students enroll in an educational pathway after high school. The decision to remove race as a factor in college admission could undo decades of progress that our Hispanic, African American, and Native American students have made in accessing postsecondary education, and ultimately impede our pursuit of the state’s attainment goal.
Education Forward Arizona will continue to advocate for all students to seek education and training after high school, especially students of color and from underserved communities.
