Frequently Asked Questions
- What is Prop 308, and who is eligible?
-
Proposition 308 (Prop 308) is an Arizona law that allows certain non-citizen students to pay in-state tuition at Arizona public universities and community colleges. To qualify, students must meet the following criteria: (1) Attend an Arizona public, private, or homeschool for at least two years. (2) Graduated from an Arizona public, private, or homeschool, or obtained a high school equivalency diploma (GED).
- I am not undocumented or a DACA recipient. Am I eligible to apply?
-
The Helios Adelante Scholarship supports students who have been impacted by the limited resources available to those without citizenship status. Students must be eligible for in-state tuition under Prop 308 (DACA or undocumented).
- Is the Federal Student Aid Estimator the same as the FAFSA?
-
No. The Federal Student Aid Estimator is a short survey that helps students get an estimate of how much aid they are eligible for. The information you provide will not be used to submit a FAFSA application.
- What can I submit as enrollment verification?
-
Students can upload a digital copy of their acceptance letter, a screenshot of their acceptance email, or a screenshot of their student portal.
- Do I have to go to a college or university in Arizona?
-
Yes. The Helios Adelante Scholarship is available to students who will be studying at a community college or university in Arizona.
- Am I eligible for the scholarship if I am not a first-year student?
-
Yes. The Helios Adelante Scholarship is available to all students who will be attending an Arizona community college or university in the fall.
